I have been an avid lockdown skeptic since March and only just recently discovered this wonderful sub. I am so thankful this place exists and really wish I had discovered it 9 months ago. Though a lot of my social life has thankfully been intact since March and I've had a somewhat normal year in terms of doing things with other people who were not willing to put a pause on their life, it has still been incredibly isolating as I don't know many people who've woken up or connected the dots (even among friends). Before discovering this sub I honestly did not even think that there were other people out there who thought like this, since most online communities censor or remove any anti-lockdown content. I often find that I struggle to verbally make the case against lockdowns and our reaction to the virus to people because there are an OVERWHELMING amount of reasons to oppose what's happening right now. It's easy to lose track of all of them, you know? In light of my authoritarian Governor just recently imprisoning our state again, I put together a handy reference list for myself in case I forget some points.
- Tennis: JV in 9th, Varisty tennis in 10th & 11th - Hoping to attend NYU Journalism Workshop - National Honor Society - Store Associate/Barista at my part-time job Planning on majoring in either of these (still undecided): Psychology or Journalism/communications Schools of Interest: Boston University, Pepperdine University, Chapman University, UCLA (that oos tuition might turn me away though), University of Southern California, UMiami, Fordham, NYU (once again that tuition really puts me away so idk), Loyola Marymount University in LA, and I have other safeties but these are mostly my main. As for my essays, I am planning on writing them in the summer and I would say I'm a pretty strong writer but if anyone could give advice or even more school options. I'm also planning on having a minor in film as it's not only something I'm passionate about but also have experimented with it during hs in my clubs and courses. It is also why I listed schools in California as I'm hoping to work maybe on the business side of film such as pr and I feel there are more opportunities in that post-grad over there.
